Technical Information: Vortex® EF2280

Download a PDF of the Vortex datasheet here: Vortex Data Sheet (360 kb)

Conference Composer version 1.70 is now available. Click here to download the zip file containing the new software: Conference Composer. Caution: this is a very large file, over 15 MB. The zip file contains the program and setup files. You should uninstall your prior version of Conference Composer before installing the new one.

Firmware Version 1.18 is also available for download via our Software directory. To save the file in your computer, right click on the file named v_01_18.efb and do a "save as" with the same file name. This firmware incorporates the following changes from version 1.15:

  • Added new AEC, noise cancellation, and automixer libraries with performance improvements
  • Added AGCMIN command that allows the user to set the minimum gain that the AGC will apply
  • Added LCD menus for saving, restoring, and deleting presets
  • Fixed some "bugs" reported to us by users (relating to error messages on parametric EQ settings; AGC Max range and factory defaults; minimum allowed off attenuation setting)
Firmware version 1.18 also fixes some minor bugs found in version 1.16:
  • Changed maximum allowable device id from 31 to 7
  • Removed potential noise from EFBus AEC Reference channel
  • Removed tones that may appear on EFBus inputs from nonexistent devices after a few days

Note: if you have downloaded firmware version 1.16 and are not experiencing the above problems, you do not need to download the new firmware.

A guide to updating your firmware with Conference Composer may be found here: Guide to Updating Firmware (Acrobat PDF).

A manual for Conference Composer may be found here: Conference Composer User Guide (Acrobat PDF, 978 kb).

Our RS232 programming guide is available via this link: Vortex Programming Guide (PDF, 306 kb).

You may download the user manual by following this link: Vortex Reference Manual (PDF, 853 kb).

A guide to Vortex factory presets and applications is available via this link: Vortex Applications and Presets (PDF, 303 kb).
