The IR10 provides infrared control of most Installed Voice products via the RS232 port. Commands available through the IR10 include phone number dialing, volume up/down, hook flash, re-dial, and mute. When the IR10 is used with an EF2280 Vortex®, the 6 user keys can be programmed to perform user-defined functions through the macro capability of the Vortex.

Another unique feature of the IR10 is the use of tones to verify when the mute function of the EF200 has been enabled or disabled. This confirms that the IR10 command has been received before private conversations are initiated.
